Name: Nicole Lee
(Aliases: Miss Chef, The Mad Chef, Stuffed Bear Girl)
Home: Currently Michigan, but who knows where I’ll be in the near future. As a Florida native, and an avid Thailand lover, I seem to love both hot weather and the ocean, neither of which Michigan offers. Many sometime soon I’ll be able to get back to the warmth of my motherland.
Occupation: I work in a kitchen (what a concept, right?), which I love more than I can put into words.
School: I’m a college girl, working my way through my classes. I’ve slowed down in the recent past because things are so expensive. My dream is to dual major in culinary arts and journalism, while taking photography classes. I would then be able to write and photograph for some amazingly huge magazine. Man. Wouldn’t that be the life?
I also spent ten months in Thailand as an exchange student when I was eighteen. I left a huge part of my heart there, and brought back a fairly comprehensive grasp on their kitchen. Most of what I make at home has strong Thai influences from ingredients to preparation styles, and it makes me miss it more every day.
Food: Thai is my favorite, by far. But other things I enjoy are: pasta, potatoes, spinach, onion, beef (in all its many forms), sushi, burritos, seafood, celery, and mangoes. Really, though, there are so many that to try to list them is kind of silly. On the other hand, the only thing I really don’t eat are mushrooms. I have a mental block about anything fungus, but it’s a fault I am working hard to overcome.
Other Interests: Because of the time I spent over seas I am very much a language enthusiast. With a total of seven to eight languages that I want to master I have my work cut out for me. Other than that? I’m a photographer, reader, writer, singer, dreamer, actor, and friend.
